It depends how much freedom you want to allow yourself David and/or your client allows! I had actually thought of "soothing" (which sounds very English) but does not translate balsamico. You could take the liberty as I said and use "soothing aromatic taste" which I think sounds fairly colloquial in this context.

I think Linda's suggestion of "aromatic" might be about as close as we can get here.

As Luskie wrote, in this context "balsamico" usually describes something with a herbal taste, but that doesn´t cover it all. And a "medicinal taste" would probably put a lot of people off. So "soothing" is probably your best option.

it does refer to a particular taste,,, come si dice, in inglese, il sapore che hanno il pino silvestre o l'eucalipto? da cui in genere si ottengono i principi attivi e/o eventualmente aromatizzanti... gusto balsamico = sapore di erbe balsamiche (but this is not an acceptable explanation, i guess...)

Balsamic springs to mind, but I've never heard a lozenge described as having a balsamic flavour, and I don't think it's really suited to a marketing translation.

The essential meaning of balsamic seems to be "curative" according to Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balsamic_vinegar

So can I just translate it as "soothing flavour" or something, or does it refer to a particular taste?
