Italian term or phrase: interventi cruenti
Non pensare che l'ambulanza sia necessariamente legata ad interventi cruenti o molto gravi...
gjuhetar
English translation:invasive procedures
Explanation:
In Italian, too, I would have used "procedure" instead of "interventi" that could be confused with "interventi chirurgici".

agree Vittorio Preite: "surgery" invece dell'americano "procedure" che in entrambe le lingue significa principalmente sequenza di azioni e non necessariamante ristrette alla chirurgia.

bloody operations

Explanation:
They seem to be saying:-
Don't think that the ambulance is necessarily linked to bloody operations or very serious .....

which makes me feel it better to stick with what they've actually said, rather than trying to "niceify" it!!

Explanation:
Don't think that ambulances are necessarily associated with violent and very serious incidents..

At least this is the way I understand it from the little context given. What follows??

critical interventions

Explanation:
'cruento' literally means 'sanguinoso', but bloody (or dreadful)interventions sounds a bit awkward..

Don't think that ambulances always respond only to life and death situations/accidents

Explanation:
I would agree with everyone else if it were related to situations in a hospital, but here I think it is speaking about the types of "emergency response" and the more humdrum daily activities of ambulance drivers/paramedics
