Italian term or phrase: Meniscectomia selettiva MI
Hi,

I'm not sure what the MI stands for in the following 2 examples:

Il periziando veniva ricoverato presso la casa di cura xxx per essere sottoposto ad intervento di "Meniscectomia selettiva **MI** e innesto autoplastico TT.G.S." per lesione totale LCA e **periferica MI** del ginocchio sinistro.

Also not sure yet about TT.G.S., but will post a question if I can't find anything!

Thanks

Yes, partial meniscectomy is better in English
Look here:
In caso di lesione meniscale (fig.2) si effettua una asportazione parziale (meniscectomia selettiva) della porzione di menisco lesionata.

agree  RProsser: yes, I have found both partial and selective to have been used. So I'd opt for selective personally

-> thank you, Rachel! "selective" seem a preference of French/Italian authors etc; "partial" seems to be preferred by English native-speakers
