according to IATE rinvio can be a reference, which here could make sense, but also a setting wheel among many other possibilities, which to me, in this context seems to fit best, as these rifles are set up to be able to target at different distances without telescopic sighting. So, there should be some sort of mechanism for adjusting the rear sight so as to develop the proper arc for the bullet to follow when firing over a long distance. Contextually this seems to be a viable alternative.
