Italian term or phrase:tavola sfalsata
No sorry, no picture and I'll probably end up asking the client on Monday. Thanks for your time. SUE Gloria Cabalisti: 13:37 Apr 21, 2007: I was going to suggest "large *fancy cut* amethyst" when I received your answer. Gloria Cabalisti: 07:23 Apr 26, 2007: any suggestion from your client? kringle: 07:33 Apr 26, 2007: Absolutely nothing, even though I sent them the translation asking for them to get back to me (don't you love it when they leave you hanging in mid-air?). So thanks for your interest but I reckon I'll have to close this one with no satisfaction for us translators!

if you don't have any other indication this is the best way to be "vague" on this subject. In fancy or fantasy cut stones "simmetry" is not discriminating, and could be anything, any shape.
I woul never say that the table is off center (technical term) or any other indication that to an expert would give a negative impression.

PS - I Know exactly what you mean about hanging in mid-air! (especiallly from Italian into English, sometimes they too do not know !!!!)
