Italian term or phrase: tenuta svettante
It's from the review of an opera performance. I know exactly what it means but, like much of the jargon used by the critics, I find it hard to find an equivalent in English. Here is the text in which it occurs: "*** comincia col garantire, come è suo solito, una tenuta sicura e svettante nel registro acuto..."

e' una frase molto difficile da tradurre letteralmente, e non so come tu abbia pensato di rendere "garantire una tenuta"..
in ogni caso svettante puo' essere inteso come qualcosa che si eleva al di sopra per maestria, abilita', qualita'..
vedi un po' tu.

in ogni caso svettante puo' essere inteso come qualcosa che si eleva al di sopra per maestria, abilita', qualita'..
