Italian term or phrase: illustrissimo
I have to translate a letter which is being sent to a famous politician. The Italian starts off with "Illustrissimo XYz", would a plain "Dear Mr XYZ" do in English or should I go for something more pompous? It is an official invitation sent by an association...
