Italian term or phrase:essere mandati al confino
This is a 1955 black and white film set during World War II in Italy. There is mention of facists and in one scene, a farmer says to one of his workers "Non e' colpa mia se sei stato mandato al confino". The dictionary gives me "to intern somebody" but I'm not convinced this is right. Any ideas of a short term I can use as these are subtitles? Thanks.
