agree  Luca Tutino: if it is a yard sale, and there is no mention of a title (for a videotape), than it is most probably a VCR, not a videotape (you can probably see it also from the price). Unless coupled with a PC it is (almost) certainly NOT a monitor.

Probabilmente vuol dire monitor di un computer.
Televisione, potrebbe anche essere, ma l'uso sarebbe improprio.
Video tape = cassetta.

se dice VCR allora è videoregistratore, ma video non è VCR.
Forse lo puoi tradurre solo con \"video\".

Seconde me ancora, \"video\" in questo caso deve voler dire \"video tape\", cioè video cassetta. A volte negli US si usa la forma corta, sottointendendo \"tape\"......... \"Let\'s go to rent a video\"...... Affittiamo una cassetta. Se si trattasse di un videoregistratore non si direbbe video, ma VCR, che è ancora più corto.

Per cui credo che \"cassetta\" sia la traduzione giusta.
(o videocassetta).

  -> Si certo, ma hai letto quello che ho scritto sopra? A parte che il contenuto (della domanda) è ovviamente incompleto, comunque "monitor" si usa anche in Italia. Qui (credo) si intenda "Cassetta", come ho scritto sopra, appunto. Ciao!

I did not mean to "disagree". I just wanted to point out that the post was "italian into english". Personally I think it means "video tapes" in the plural. We just say "video" whether it is one or many.

VCR = video cassette recorder = videoregistratore, almeno per quanto riguarda il Regno Unito.
Nel Regno Unito è sinonimo di Video tape recorder, quest'ultimo meno usato.

Parola di uno che vive da più di vent'anni in Inghilterra!

Scusa ho letto male il testo. Pensavo che la domanda si riferisse a \"VCR\" e non a \"video\"

\"Video\" oltre che ad indicare video tape può anche indicare il \"video\" cioè lo schermo (o video) come lo intendiamo noi in italiano.
