Italian term or phrase: ci giunge
Salve a tutti !!

Non so come tradurre al meglio questa frase :
"la tua mail ci giunge proprio mentre siamo qui in fiera"

"we have received your e-mail just while being here at the fair"

ma non mi piace proprio come l'ho messa ......grazie 1000 per i vostri suggerimenti !!!

arrived
Explanation:
"Your email arrived right whilst we are here at the fair" The first verb needs to be in the simple past as it occurred at a specific time, while the second remains in the present to maintain the immediacy of the message. I hope this helps.

neutral  Anna ZANNELLA: grammar?.... "while we were ...." past simple occurs even when the event is one nano-second in the past.
3 hrs
-> I disagree - this is not an assignment for an English teacher but the desire to express a specific case. The grammar is correct if it is understandable - not if it follows the cannons of academia.

agree  Shera Lyn Parpia: sounds like English ....

reached us exactly while/when ...

Explanation:
...your letter reached us exactly when we are here at the fair.
oppure: ...while we were here at the fair (si può usare anche il verbo al passato assieme a 'here')

spero ti dia una mano.

disagree  Anna ZANNELLA: and you know it is arriving because the postman sent a letter telling you there's a letter coming?
8 mins
-> or they could be checking it on a portable device. however, the phrase in the original is in the present tense.

has reached us

Explanation:
"la tua mail ci giunge proprio mentre siamo qui in fiera"
Your mail has reached us while we are still here at the (-Trade) Fair.

The present perfect will tie a past action to what has current impact. Its the only English grammatial term that does that.

Your mail has reached us while we are (-still) here at the (-Trade) Fair.

There is no "ancora" in the Italian phrase.
