short crust pastry
Explanation:
If this refers to a type of pastry used for pies etc, then it is referred to in England as "short crust" pastry, not just "short". It is used to top pies, and also for the base of quiches. I cannot say if this is acutally the pastry used in your recipe though!

pie crust?

Explanation:
In terms of application, anyway. (I know how to make it, and here we call it "pasta quebrada", but this is a tricky cultural interface).

Short Pastry Dough

Explanation:
A simple pastry dough for making torta salata consisting of flour, butter or margerine, water and salt. Although it lacks eggs and sugar as ingredients, I find it works well for crostata di frutta as well.

shortcrust pastry

Explanation:
Pastry base for quiches, tarts etc.
Can be used as a base for sweet or savoury dishes.
I agree with Jonathan about the ingredients, but desagree with Roberta.
It's not the same as pasta frolla.
This one contains eggs and sugar and it is only used for sweet recepies.

Here in England is commonly called ''shortcrust pastry''

sweet crust / pie crust

Explanation:
The French call this pâte brisée, which literally means "broken" pastry, because the ingredients are broken into each other.

Hope it helps! :P
