Italian term or phrase: teatro di figura
From a list of events scheduled for festivals of different kinds (regattas, mini bike races etc) and this one, "teatro di marionette e di figure" Lots of hits on Google in the Italian form but can't find an English equivalent. Any help appreciated (a lot!) Thanks SUE

puppet shows
Explanation:

The above suggests this is an umbrella term for "puppet shows" - marionnettes being puppets worked by strings.

agree Patrick McKeown: I would go with the plural, not to be fussy, but it does give more the idea of different types of puppet (strings, glove puppets, on sticks, shadows, cardboard cutouts etc.) shows possible

puppet theatre

Explanation:
I hope the dynamic database server will let me answer this time! Show is "spettacolo", but there is such a thing in English as "puppet theatre". The "di marionette e di figure" bit can safely be translated as "puppet", as the two other answerers have already demonstrated.

neutral John Walsh: Show in this context is not limited to "spettacolo".

-> Theatre covers the idea of shows though, and I feel "teatro" wouldn't be used unless they meant theatre.

animation theatre

Explanation:
Addirittura già costruiti tipo giocattoli e/o bambole.
