Cocktail attire

Explanation:
Good luck, Kringle

Elena

Cocktail attire

Dark suits, dress shirts and ties for men, any number of dressy options for women. This does not mean long skirts for the ladies, but glitzy evening pants ensembles qualify. Cocktail suits, little black dresses with sparkly jewelry — the options are varied and very dressy.

(Please note that "black tie", at least in the US, means a tuxedo and bowtie - it's the most formal evening attire, more than "abito scuro")

::::::::::: Also: \"FORMAL ATTIRE\" (although this may leave doubts re: \"black tie\", i.e., need to wear a tuxedo)

Formal
A dark suit and tie for men and a dressy business suit for women is appropriate. Women may also wear dresses or pantsuits. The rule is generally that the more formal the event, the more covered up a woman should dress. Take a wrap or dress jacket if you go strappy or sleeveless. Choose dress fabrics like velvet or silk which you would of course not wear to work.
