Thanks to all. Have chosen Michele's suggestion because the writer keeps claiming (throughout the article) that tattooing and piercing are harmful phenomenons.

Explanation:

Not as close a translation as Angela's, perhaps, as this is closer to "non esageriamo" - but perhaps it's a better equivalent all the same.
