Clarification request(s) and response
Luisa Fiorini: 14:02 Dec 2, 2007: Hi Maggie, take a look at this definition of "pacifico", since I am pretty sure that your sentence has nothing to do with pacifico in the sensa of peace and lack of violence, but in the sense "acceppted". 4 agg., fig., comunemente accettato, non soggetto
Luisa Fiorini: 14:02 Dec 2, 2007: comunemente accettato, non soggetto a discussione o controversia: è p. che verrò anch’io, s’intende che la parità di diritti è cosa pacifica

Luisa Fiorini: 14:04 Dec 2, 2007: The definition was taken from the italian monolingual dictionary De Mauro:

Maggie Rosengarten: 14:25 Dec 2, 2007: Hi Luisa
I completely agree with you that there is nothing in the text relating to peace or lack of violence and already thought your own suggestions fitted the context perfectly so I will be awarding you the points - thanks for your help.
xxxArianna A: 14:29 Dec 2, 2007: As I said, I am not sure it would fit the context. Sorry, just wanted to help, in any case I didn't really get the meaning without adding the proper accents.

pacificita
peacefulness

Explanation:
I am missing some accents in this sentence... "in ordine alla pacificità della non novità". Otherwise I really can't make my mind. It would really surprise me if otherwise.
Literally it means: "characterized by peace; free from war, strife, commotion, violence, or disorder". I am not 100% sure in English you would use it in this context. I hope it can help anyway.
In Italian "pacificità" is rarely used, and it basically means to be "pacific".
