"la via della connessione”, nella quale il soggetto esperimenta se stesso e il mondo come realtà intimamente in relazione e percepisce il proprio spazio vitale dilatarsi oltre i limiti della propria pelle fino a sconfinare in quello del mondo circostante; e “la via della separazione”, nella quale il soggetto sperimenta il mondo e se stesso come due realtà distinte e separate, e concepisce il proprio spazio vitale come un luogo dai confini ben precisi e isolato dal contesto circostante.

Explanation: In western philosophy you have the following distinction:
The dualist approach, particularly linked with Descartes, emphasizes the difference between the self and the outside world.
A little later Berkley introduced idealism, claiming that the individual and the outside world are one. This 'one' would be God, and hence everything is part of God and within God. The individual is one with nature in God. This idea is called 'monism'
