Italian term or phrase:affondi geografici e di respingimenti visivi
I'm having considerable difficulty unravelling this tortuous paragraph and making sense of what appears to be another pile of pseudo-intellectual gobbledegook ... particularly the phrase above. Can anyone offer to throw some much needed light on what the guy is failing to convey here?
Here is the offending paragraph:
Il problema dello spazio, nel caso dei video, è stato rimediato con una disposizione che finge la circolarità continua di un diorama mentre, al contrario, rivela degli spazi differenziati, un ventaglio di di affondi geografici e di respingimenti visivi, di immagini correlate al moto del corpo reale e altre interamente virtuali..... HELP!!

If you don't like "lungings" (which I though to be rather suitably preposterous for the text in question), you may use "dip(-in)s" or "dives".
