Italian term or phrase: categorie (in context)
Salve ancora,

....the causal explanation which is an expression of such concepts...

É solo una suggestione...

agree  Michael Korovkin: It is a TOTALLY "inapropriate" translation of "categorie"(Mr. Murray!) as a philosophical term, but it is totally appropriate translation for this text. Moreover, your suggestion gently makes up for the author's missuse of the term "categories"

categories / a priori intuitions

Explanation:
The use of categories is incorrect even in Italian. If this is a reference to Kant, which I presume it is, then time and space are a priori intuitions.

I suggest leaving "categories" as a direct translation since it is a perfectly acceptable philosophical term. However, if one is to be pedantic, then time and space would be a priori institutions, not categories.

neutral  Michael Korovkin: Space and time are not categories, you're right. The trouble is that this text is not at all philosophical. So,how about"driving in search of an a priori intuition for parking a car?" :)And yet to allow"categories" would be to persist in the author's error.
