Nel senso traslato è una persona diffidente, un po' scontrosa, poco affabile nei modi, diventata "secca" perché è stata ferita e trattata male, perdendo la fiducia in sé e negli altri.

agree Umberto Cassano: mi piace "loner". Studentesse della Florida mi dicevano spesso così a Cambridge (UK), "you're a loner". Ma anche loro, grazie a Dio, erano abbastanza strambe per me. :-))
