Italian to English translations [Non-PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature
Italian term or phrase:battipanni
This is a bit more complicated than just the term...
The original sentence is, "Sicuro che è della Provvidenza! Infatti la Provvidenza lo userà come un battipanni. Per colpire la Chiesa come si fa coi vecchi materassi!"
Battipanni is a carpet beater. But, is there an English expression that gives this same idea? ...per colpire like one does with an old mattress?
