Italian to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature / historic poetry/wine
Italian term or phrase: langue
Same piece of poetry written by a priest/poet for a friend's wedding (in 1818, so the language is a little dated).

"langue" - from "languire"? As far as I can make out this means growing weak/fading/dying... hardly appropriate for a wedding surely? Or is it simply that this is the best wine around and has restorative qualities?

All help appreciated; TIA :)

"La Canina prelibata/ di Ravenna, nonché quella/ uva rossa così grata/ che fiammeggia in Brisighella,/ fan dei vini a parer mio/ pien di forza, pien di brio./ Rubicondo più del sangue/***egli è il primo, e lo darei/ solo chi s’invecchia e langue."***
