Italian term or phrase: 'una pace pigra'
"Entriamo in una stanza vuota con un letto al centro. Cos’è quel letto ci chiediamo: un riparo? Una pace pigra? Un termine?"

This is the opening stage direction for a play. I'm not having any luck find a translation for the phrase, so I am beginning to wonder if it's a use particular to the author?

a lazy/sleepy peace
Explanation:
What's the wrong with the literal translation, in this case? Plus, lazy or sleepy goes well with the image of a bed!

Sorry, that first 'the' shouldn't be there :-)

And I think 'termine' in this case must be interpreted as 'terminus', 'end', 'last stop', etc.

A place of indulgent peace

Explanation:
I understand "pigra" as meaning "indulgent" in this case. It makes me think of those few extra stolen minutes in bed after the alarm goes off...
