Italian term or phrase: è ormai nel comune sentire della gente
"In India non ci si sente mai soli , mai completamente separati dal resto..
Ogni vita, la mia e quella di un albero è parte di un tutto dalle mille forme di vita… ***E’ ormai nel comune sentire della gente.*** E’ nell’aria che si respira."

I don't really understand the concept this sentence is trying to express - would "sentire" be translated as "feel"? And "nel comune"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

By now it's a way of life

Explanation:
I would steer away from translating 'comune' literally and go for something like this...

hope it helps!

People feel this way

Explanation:
I wouldn't translate "ormai", it sounds just like a filler to me unless in the previous passages there was a description of a different India where people would not feel like that.
