seaworthiness certificate/certificate of navigability Explanation: A seaworthiness certificate and a certificate of navigability are documents issued by the Maritime Administration which certify that the Maritime Administration has conducted a technical survey of a ship pursuant to subsection 13 (4) of this Act and that the ship has been declared seaworthy or navigable in inland waters pursuant to this Act. A seaworthiness certificate or a certificate of navigability shall be issued for a period of five years if a ship has passed the initial survey or a periodical survey. |
