devo tradurre in inglese quest espressione e mi serve qualcosa di colorato visto che si tratta di un blog per bambini e bambine di età compresa tra i 6 e i 14 anni
Explanation: Well there's some 'colour' here (literally, too), and it's certainly idiomatic and emphasizes success, in the sense of rising to a challenge and passing the test. HTH, anyway.
beh purtroppo non ce l ho il contesto è un glossario di termini che fanno parte di un sito web per bambini, è in generale comunque, ottenere tutto qiello che ci si era prefissati

Quella normale sarebbe "breast the tape" e si riferisce alla corsa.

Effettivamente la prima aveva anche "first" alla fine. Quindi Era così: "cross the finishing line first" = tagliare il traguardo. Ma si può adattare, come ho fatto io, infatti. Buon lavoro.

Secondo me sì perché esprime un concetto che tutti i bambini possono capire facilmente. Diciamo che gli parla più direttamente che qualcosa come "achieving your goals" e a me da l'idea un po' di un gioco, qualcosa che gli attira l'attenzione. E' molto difficile senza sapere quali contenuti saranno inclusi in questa sezione della pagina, ma secondo me da lo stesso tipo di energia che "tagliare tutti i traguardi". Spero che ti aiuti..

Se posso risponderti francamente non so come una madrelingua inglese abbia inventato questa espressione, non l'ho mai sentita e suona veramente brutto. Scusami se sono un po' diretta, ma è meglio che sappi.

quanto sopra è riferito a "breast all the tapes"; "breast the tape" esiste ma è un po' freddo e professionale per bambini secondo me ed è improbabile che conoscono questa espressione.
