|Italian term or phrase: guide di luce piane|
|LED lighting technology:|
"In funzione del campo di applicazione è possibile aggiungere elementi ottici secondari quali lenti, riflettori e guide di luce piane ecc."
guide di luce I found an interesting description regarding the type of lighting used in museums and art galleries, which lead you around the place (hence guide) but do not alter your perception of the work of art.
Hope it can "illuminate" you a bit

guide di luce piane
The term "luce piane" is becoming popular in Photography, sport and even in art today. It is know as "FLAT-LIGHT", especially here at USA. However, the term seems to be more amateur rather than scientific. Because you can identify it with "soft light" and "overcast or diffuse light". In your translation, respecting the authors idea, you can use
"guides of FLAT-LIGHT".
