Italian term or phrase: lucidatura meccanica al banco
"Si procede alla lucidatura meccanica al banco, con spazzolino di pelo di capra e pasta brillantante (priva di cera)."

From a text about partial dental restorations.

I know "lucidatura" is polishing, and I guess "meccanica" is "mechanical" - or is it something like "by machine" or "automatic"? But I'm not quite sure about "al banco". Does it simply mean that it's done on a bench?

Basically, I need help with this entire phrase. It's a case of knowing most of the individual components (more or less) but not being sure about how it fits together in English. TIA for your assistance.

OK, so mechanical polishing on a bench should do it, then (I don't think "banco" is the dentist's chair - sorry Pina, but thanks anyway for your contribution). Thanks very much for that Elena - appreciate your help. Thanks also to the peer graders for making my decision a little easier.
