|Italian term or phrase: rapporti|
|". . . la normativa in essere negli USA per la definizione dei rapporti con i correspondenti esteri."|
"The existing regulations in the USA as defined by their relationship with the foreign companies"?
From a telecom-related doc.
Giles, but "defining" is not the same thing as "governing"...

"Relationships" is OK.
The problem lies in "normativa per la definizione dei rapporti" which just means "regulations governing relationships" ("regulations for the definition of relationships" has too many abstract nouns for my taste!).
