household (domestic) automation Explanation: See the web site below (one of about 40). This one, happily, was originally in Italian: "... [the] last section is dedicated to “Domotica”, meaning automation of daily living spaces...." The phrase "smart houses" is also common in the U.S., referring to le Corbu's "machines for living" that are kitted out electronically in ways that that cranky old genius would be amazed, perhaps, to see! domotic equipment Explanation: Don't forget that obstacles to movements (steps, adequate breadth,…) must first be suppressed before planning domotic (home) equipment. Any installation of domotic equipment must take account of accessibility of the commands (where to place a push button in a bathroom : at 80 cm and a second near the floor in case you fall). (http://www.bbri.be/facile/eng/2_useful_facilities/2_1_mobili... A secondary target group consists of professionals and user representative organisations involved in the evaluation and the setting up of domotic environments, e.g. therapists, medical assistance staff, architects, property managers, and manufacturers of domotic equipment. domotics components Explanation: It depends on whether you are talking about (smart)appliances or components for the appliances, or switches for the smart house, or what. This is really just an extra suggestion--(you already got a good answer from Heathcliff):\"domotics\" is the translation of domotica, though it seems to me, like Heathcliff says, that the terms \"smart\" appliances, \"smart\" houses, etc. are much more used in normal language. Nonetheless, if you do a web search with the term \"domotics\", you should find all kinds of info. HTH, Maureen [email protected] |
