you will find that "manage" is used as an equal alternative to "control" and in my opinion if the Italian did not say "assi controllati" I would stick with "managed".
Below there is a para. from a machine tool manufacturer website whre the two words are used in the same sentence!!!

"Machining stations are Saeilo's Mach 3A, column-traverse HMC's, with 300mm pallets and work ranges of 15.75" (X), 13.78" (Y) and 15.75" W. The 40-taper spindles are powered by 10 hp, 6000 rpm drives with 2.5 second acceleration /deceleration over the full speed range. Carousel-type automatic tool changers utilize 20 CAT-40 tools (for a system total of 60 tools), with 2.5 second tool exchange. Positioning speed on all axes is 945 inches per minute with ±0.0002" accuracy and ±0.00012" repeatability. Each station is run by its own Fanuc O-MC control with total system integration managed through an Allen Bradley SLC-500 controller."

I have worked for over 12 years with a company using Fanuc,A-B and Siemens controllers are they quite happily use manage in their texts.

...una leggera variazione, anche se management suona piuttosto male. Con un po' piu' di contesto si potrebbe sostituirlo con un termine migliore (forse orientation?). Comunque, in matematica, e in tutte le scienze annesse, gli assi XYZ sono gli assi coordinati utilizzati per rappresentare uno spazio tridimensionale.
