I called the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since this is a term which only they use, and had a chat with their translation/interpretation office. they also confirmed the description used by baldi in the link I provided. Once it used to be a cable/telegram/telex but nowadays no one uses these any longer. "telespressi" are sent via courier or fax, and are official notes/means of communication between the ministry and its external branches. hence I was told that the best description/wording would be "comunicazione (o nota) "ministeriale"", and I am translating it as "ministerial communication" I shall put telespresso in brackets as a ndt. |
