"Durante questi giorni i genovesi conservano la tradizione di recarsi nelle chiese del centro storico per visitare i "Sepolcri" (altari riccamente decorati per l'occasione), rigorosamente in numero dispari."

I am not clear what "in numero dispari" refers to -- the groups of visitors? The sepolcri? I can't find any information on this tradition, and I've never been to Genova during Holy Week :)
