Italian term or phrase: disperdersi nel mare magno
L’offerta siciliana è peraltro molto frantumata e rischia di disperdersi nel mare magno di una domanda che chiede cose semplici, precise, puntuali e facili da capire e da raggiungere.

Having many a problem with this metaphor!

My simplified attempt at getting the meaning:

Sicilian tourism supply is however, very fragmented and risks not being able to meet the demand, which requires things to be simple, accurate, on time and easy to understand and achieve

would appreciate any more creative suggestions!

English translation:lose its way in the ocean
Explanation:
if you want to keep the idiom

get lost/lose its way in the vast ocean/selection of choices

The Sicilian offering is also extremely piecemeal, carrying the risk of getting lost in the vast ocean of choices ....
