Italian to English translations [PRO] Tourism & Travel / Tree house hotels
Explanation: Wow, what a convoluted one. I'd say you have to translate very loosely to make it remotely palatable in English. The way I read it, it's saying that tree houses both conjure the idea of getting away, escaping and making your mark (with the house in the tree, or "Jane loves John" carvings). Anyhow, they're stretching it and I'd take it down many notches.
Nothing too esoteric about tree houses. We have nature reserves here, namely the Hluhluwe National park, offering comfortable, well-appointed accommodation in tree-houses.
Going back to the question, though, did Miriam mean "leaving your mark" as in "marking the territory" that is, leaving your scent?? :-)
I've already tried, but my client is not the person who wrote the article. I think, as Miriam says, I just have to make it palatable in English and hope for the best. Thanks!
What will they come up with, next, I (dare to) wonder.
Tree-house accommodation merges together our strive to escape from standardised reality and our standards of indoor living?
Basically, one would go back living on a tree, but still have all the comforts appealing to a 21st-century human in a 21st-century hotel.
Who knows...
If I were you, though, I'd ask the client what they meant.
