I think that it has the meaning of HOME. It's more synthetic, but i do prefer synthesis to a long sentence that is also a bit further away from the original meaning.
And what do you make of "unica in Italia a vantare questo marchio"? "Unica" obviously refers to "mela". Does it mean the only place in Italy where it's grown?
I'm not sure it is a technical term. Doesn't it just mean "home"?
