The use of "point" with opposite meanings (start/end point) keeps the original "serve/non serve" opposition

The reference to being born in the Vicenza area (the 'autoctonous' side of it) is a pretext to write about the region in a different way (i.e. starting from the success stories of its people).
Not the most readable Italian I've seen, I must say.

As I understand it, "non serve sapere" refers to us, the reader, not the Vicentini.

This is hard to understand without the full context (what comes before and after it?), and I don't think a literal translation is going to work. I assume "ce l'hanno fatta" means "made good" or "become famous". I had to look up Vicentini - it means inhabitants of Vicenza.
