Queste funzioni sono definite e regolamentate da Norme (emesse dal Normatore). Gli Schemi di Principio traducono le norme in condizioni logiche espresse tramite dispositivi a relè. Gli Schemi di Principio tengono anche conto dei possibili degradi che si possono avere sui dispositivi (relè) e salvaguardano la sicurezza degli impianti da tali avarie. Lo Schema di Principio è emesso dal Tecnologo. Tutte le possibili opzioni che si possono avere sull’impianto reale, in conformità con le norme, vengono definite nel Programma di Esercizio. Il Programma di Esercizio è emesso dal Committente Funzionale.
L’impianto potrà essere realizzato utilizzato degli schemi proposti dall’Appaltatore su i quali implementare un Programma di Esercizio condiviso tra il Committente Funzionale e il Fornitore.
