Très souvent on définit un Thread comme un Processus léger.
Par définition, un thread est un fragment de code exécuté parallèlement aux autres travaux du système.
Il existe un ou plusieurs Threads par processus.
Lorsqu’on ne lance aucun Thread dans un programme, il y en a quand même un en cours d’exécution. La méthode Main est démarrée comme premier Thread.

Explanation:
Personnellement, je pense aussi qu'il s'agit d'un modèle informatique. Cela vaudrait peut-être la peine de demander au client s'il s'agit bien simplement d'un système informatique, ou spécifiquement de calcul afin de clarifier les choses.
