La struttura presenta tre aperture ad arco, quella centrale più ampia delle due laterali, tutte inquadrate, sulla faccia orientale, da una ricca decorazione architettonica e scultorea, che consta di fregi floreali ai lati e pannelli quadrati al centro, recanti alternativamente busti di divinità e fiori e foglie lussureggianti, al di sopra dei quali si trovavano capitelli nabatei con girali vegetali; l’elaborata facciata orientale è completata, inoltre, da quattro colonne libere poste su alto basamento. (girale: Motivo ornamentale composto da una foglia d'acanto, di vite o altro in forma di voluta e con al centro, di solito, un fiore. Kennt jemand das deutsche Wort?)

Wie z.B. im korinthischen Kapitell.
Hier evtl. vegetabile Voluten o.Ä.

neutral  Saskia Ponzi: Hmmm... damit sind aber doch diese schneckenartigen Teile am Kapitell gemeint: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volute Ich denke, "a forma di voluta" steht hier für "spiralartig gewunden".

  -> Die Rede ist ja von Kapitellen, also sind es Voluten/Rollwerk.
