Italian term or phrase: spessorare il perimetro

Es geht um Fliesenverlegung, ich verstehe das so, dass am unteren Rand der Wand eine Abstand eingeplant wird, so dass später der Boden verlegt werden kann, heißt es das denn auch?

Inoltre, nel caso in cui si decida di iniziare dalla posa dei rivestimenti sulla parete verticale, si consiglia di *spessorare il perimetro dei muri* da rivestire al fine di consentire la successiva posa del materiale previsto per il pavimento (nel calcolo dello spessore non dimenticare di tenere in considerazione il relativo collante).
