Il sistema di Controllo Traffico Centralizzato della linea 2 attualmente in esercizio è composto dai seguenti impianti:

• Quadro sinottico a mosaico, che contiene la rappresentazione del piano schematico della linea 2 con segnalazioni luminose a led indicanti lo stato e le condizioni di allarme degli enti degli impianti di
segnalamento, nonché la posizione dei treni lungo la linea mediante segnalazione dello stato di libero/occupato dei circuiti di binario.

• Banco Operatore DCT, utilizzato per l’invio dei telecomandi verso gli ACEI (Apparati Centrali Elettrici ad Itinerari) ubicati nelle stazioni metropolitane.

• Impianti di teleoperazioni, che costituiscono lo strumento per remotizzare e rappresentare sul Quadro sinottico i ***“telecontrolli”*** (stati ed allarmi di tipo ON/OFF) acquisiti dagli impianti periferici e per inviare i telecomandi dal Posto Centrale (Banco Operatore) ai Posti Satellite (apparati periferici ubicati nelle stazioni metropolitane, tra cui gli ACEI precedentemente citati).

In Deutschland werden Relaisstellwerke und elektronische Stellwerke auch Gleisbildstellwerke genannt, weil sie mit Bedienelementen bedient werden, die auf einem Stelltisch, einer Stelltafel oder auf Monitoren in einem schematischen Gleisbild angeordnet oder dargestellt sind.

Bei telecontrolli kann es sich auch um die Fernüberwachungsgeräte handeln, die Status- und Alarmmeldungen an die Zentrale senden und die dort erfasst werden (data acquisition auf Englisch)
