| | Grobgrieß und Feingrieß | Explanation:
Grieß ist ein Begriff aus der Müllerei für Teilstückchen des Getreidekorns (meist Weizen) mit einer Größe von 0,3 bis 1 mm (300–1000 µm). Grießkörnchen sind rundlich bis kantig mit einer weißen bis gelblich-braunen Färbung. Der Müller kann durch verschiedene Einstellung am Walzenstuhl die Vermahlung so einstellen, dass entweder mehr Grieß- oder mehr Mehlpartikel entstehen. Staubförmige Mehlpartikel werden in der Mühle vom Grieß abgetrennt. Die anfallenden Grieße werden mit einer Grießputzmaschine in geputzten und ungeputzten (von Schalen nicht befreitem) Grieß sowie in verschiedene Größenklassen getrennt:
grober Grieß (600–1000 µm)
mittlerer Grieß (475–600 µm)
feiner Grieß (300–475 µm)
