Das einsprachige, italienische Wörterbuch Devoto/Oli definiert den Begriff *chirografo* wie folgt: atto, documento autografo, destinato a far prova in una eventuale causa o contestazione. Aus dem Lateinischen "chirographum" bzw. aus dem Griechischen "kheirógraphon" = "scritto a mano"
