In einem solchen Fall würde ich übersetzen"... mit Schreiben des italienischen Geschäftszeichens "prot. prov.le 256672 ...". Eventuell könnte man ja noch in einer Anmerkung die Abkürzung auflösen, man müsste allerdings abwägen, ob dem insgesamt eine so große inhaltliche Bedeutung zukommt.
