Mit "ruote veloci" sind normalerweise in diesem Zusammenhang (Radsport) die Sprinter gemeint, d.h. Rennfahrer, die kurzfristig sehr hohe Geschwindigkeiten (>60 kmh) erreichen können und daher Rennen am Ende im Sprint gewinnen können (Petacchi, Zabel, Boonen, McEwen etc.).
