Aus einer Pressemitteilung über das Engagement eines Unternehmens als Sponsor einer Amateur-Radsport-Gruppe:

Un impegno mirato a sostenere le molteplici attività anche di carattere benefico e l’organizzazione delle classiche gare di Gran Fondo.

Ich habe auch "Medio Fondo" gefunden...und beide Begriffe finde ich immer wieder Seiten wieder, die ins Deutsche übersetzt sind...und da bleiben sie unübersetzt...

Bevor ich den Begriff gänzlich unübersetzt lasse, würde ich gerne wissen, was diese Gran-Fondo-Rennen überhaupt sind...
