Вариант (правда, более тяжеловесный): «Прочно удерживаемые позиции для сохранения значительных конкурентных преимуществ [в той или иной области]».
Еще парочка контекстуальных синонимов-боеприпасов в обойму переводчика: стабильные / надежные / сохраняемые / устойчивые / долговременные…
