La palabra "scarto" en este contexto me da la idea de separar cosas; en la mente de un paciente, como un camino que se bifurca, por eso te propongo esas palabras que reflejan esa idea.
Talvez investigando mejor en un diccionario de psicología (que no tengo aqui) se podría encontrar un termino mas especifico.
