螺鈿工芸. mother-of-peearl work.
螺钿：亦作"螺填"、"螺甸"，是贝壳薄片制成人物、鸟兽、花草等形象嵌在雕镂或髹漆器物上的装饰技法。平漆之后，而饰以彩色，则有描漆、彩漆、漂霞妆彩、花彩、描彩等制法，饰以金的，则有砂金、描金、洒金、涂金、泥金、贴金等名目，细按其各名称，自可推想其制法不同。总之，漆器之中，以雕漆为最高贵，亦以雕漆为最有艺术意趣，故历代均努力制作。宋人雕红漆器，如果宫中用盒，多用金银为胎，以朱漆厚堆至数十层，始刻人物、楼台、花草等图画，刀法之工，雕镂之巧，俨若笔画。
