Japanese term or phrase: 手形サイト
I know what it means, but i'm not quite sure what i can translate it to. On 英辞朗, its sight of bill; I'm not quite sure if it'll make much sense. Is there an English equivalent to it? I'm rather stuck because I need this term for a code(title) in a database, which means i can't explain it.

Sight Bill/Sight Draft
Explanation:
All my usual online dictionaries also came up with "sight of bill." In English I think this is usually expressed as "sight bill" or "sight draft." See link 1. You can find lots of definitions of these terms in the free online dictionaries. But I also agree with Yasu that the term has a different meaning in Japanese. See link 2. Hope this helps some.

interest period of bill

Explanation:
According to the Webster dictionary, "sight" is "presentation of a note or draft to the maker or draftee ." However, this Japanized English usage seems to be different from its original English meaning.

Google explains the 「手形サイト」as 「振出日から支払期日までの期間のことを、手形サイトと言います。手形を受け取った方としては、手形サイトが長いほどひっかかりのリスクがありますし、逆を言えば手形を振り出した方としては、手形サイトが長いほど資金繰りが楽になります。」

So, mine is a compromise. Perhaps someone else can suggest a better translation.

I realized that interest is not always involved. Thus, a better expression is "period of bill" or "period of term draft"
